The
Challenge
Pulte
Mortgage Corporation, a leading provider of home mortgages,
had paid a significant down-payment on a mortgage software
application to automate key business processes. The company
that provided the mortgage application had not been successful
in meeting the delivery schedule, however, and Pulte had
concerns about the software company and their ability
to deliver.
The
Solution
Using
our technology planning process we worked with Pulte to
quickly assemble the set of functional requirements for
the mortgage application. We then built a team of experts
that evaluated the mortgage application and the software
company itself. Our experts provided Pulte with the estimated
cost and schedule for several different scenarios, including
Pulte buying all rights to mortgage application and taking
over development, versus developing their own application,
or selecting a web-based solution.
The
Benefit
Pulte
avoided a risky and costly purchase of the mortgage application
and chose to assemble their own solution using a combination
of existing products and custom development.
